Plane geometry problems and their evaluation in GeoGebra applet environment
Plane geometry problems are not very popular with many students and the process of teaching and learning geometry is usually accompanied by many difficulties. In addition to the solving of the problem, paper-and-pencil drawing
is time consuming for students and requires some drawing skill. Not only is the evaluation itself a complicated problem but evaluating this kind of tasks is time consuming for teachers. Consequently, students do not solve as many
problems as necessary to make them experienced enough in solving such problems. The automatic evaluation of students´ answer to plane geometry tasks is able to speed up the process a lot, but due to its complexness
it has been beyond the capabilities of known systems until now. We want to present a new online system and report on our first experience of using it. Students solve assigned tasks in GeoGebra applets embedded in web pages and
submit their answers to the server. The server evaluates their answers instantly. This approach influences the plane geometry problem solving strategies.
